Not So Fast
There is a pending now approved Development Application for the site (DA/2024/4695). It seeks to change the Zoning to Multiple Dwellings. And, the presented plans show a 5 apartment, 7 storey high building on the 554 square metre block. The street frontage is only 21.5m. The property tapers to just 12 metres at the rear. The single house on the lot was removed in June 2024.
Does anyone really think that a high-rise building is appropriate for the property?
Council Planning Policy – Residential Design official Planning Instrument states that up to a 2 or 3 level apartment building is appropriate.

25 Marine Parade is a small 554 sq metre lot with a frontage of 21.5 metres. It tapers toward the rear and there is only 12 metres wide. Hardly a suitable property for a high-rise apartment building. Local neighbours are generally opposed to the planned development.
