Actions You Might Take Now
Now that the DA has been granted approval, you might consider lodging an official Complaint to the Moreton Bay Regional Council. To do that, see our Complaints page with some samples.
Actions You Might Take Later
Once you have lodged a Complaint to the MBRC, and they have responded with their “resolution”, you may then wish to lodge a complaint with the Queensland Ombudsman. The Ombudsman will only investigate your complaint once you have exhausted the process of complaining direct to Council.
Complaints to the Governance Dept at MBRC are presently taking over two months get a written response. Our first lodged in February is not now expected to get a response until mid-June. That is not satisfactory. They do state they try to have a resolution within 45 days. The complaint to the Ombudsman is relatively simple, where you complete some on-screen form fields, and attach copies of correspondence you have had with Council. (i.e. your official complaint, their acknowledgement and their response once received)
It may seem like a lost cause, but there is a lot at stake, so please persevere.
